Exercises To Increase Vertical Leap

There are several ways to increase vertical jump. At your training you will have to look for two things, to strengthen your legs and strengthen their fast-twitch muscle fibers which are essential for vertical jump and that will add few centimeters to your vertical jump. Increasing vertical leap will help you at sports like basketball (for better rebounding), volleyball (at hitting and blocking), soccer (being able to score with your head), handball, American football, rugby and others.

Power is one of the most important thing when jumping high. Physics say that power equals A/t, A being the work and t time but in sports power is better described as strength multiplied by speed and that is why training fast-twitch muscle is very important.

Every workout should be started with warming up and extensive leg stretches which is very important when building muscle fibers and will prevent injuries. The best way to continue is with jump rope which will higher your pulse which will help you with the final results. As I said before speed is important that is why you should go out and make few sprints and than continue with stairs. I recommend you the local stadion which usually has a lot of stars. Important thing is to run the stars with your toes than walk down and repeat the exercise on every second stair. The thing you should do next are the jumps. Start with jumping from the box and immediately back on to the box. Do 3 sets of 10 repetitions. Continue with jumps where your legs are bent (3/4) and try to jump as high as possible land and repeat... Do 3 sets of ten repetitions and continue with jumping fast and not as high as before. Jump as soon as your toes hit the ground. The best thing is to find a target backboard or rim on the basketball court is a great target try to touch it 10times in a row and repeat it 3 times.

After you are done run for a mile and than stretch again. Complete the program every 3rd day and results will be seen in weeks.

NFL Football Forums - Bringing Fans Together by Debby Carson

What would happen if you brought all NFL football fans in the country together in one room? You would probably have one of the most opinionated arguements on the planet thats what. Now there is a way for NFL fans country wide to share their football knowlage and do a bit of "smack talk" in the process, the NFL Football Forum. The NFL Football Forum was designed to bring the sports community and football fans a bit closer together and allow it's registered members to chat and swap comments with other football fans who might just happen to like some other NFL team other than their own. Hard to believe someone would actually like a team other than yours right?

But It's true.

But thats not all, the NFL Football Forum also includes some terrific features as well, such as updated team news on every NFL team so you can find out whats going on with whatever club your rooting for, a ticker so you can check out live real time stats and scores during the game, custom profiles so you can display and show off your favorite NFL team as your own personal avatar and not to mention online customized polls.

Sounds cool? It is.

For sports fans this method of bringing fans together all over the world works really well, people seem to enjoy shouting out their opinions (and you know how people love to express their opinions). Just having a place to go where they can return back from a hard day at work, relax with a beer (or a cappuccino just in case your not an alcoholic) and sit down at their laptop and share with everyone how much of an armchair quarterback they really are.

Forums have been around for a long time and have been gaining in popularity over the years and I doubt they will ever vanish from the internet. It still remains one of the best ways of allowing people a method of communitcating with others worldwide and expressing ones owns opinions about a particular topic.

If you have never checked one out you really should as it can be a wonderful experience not to mention it's one of the best ways of being heard around the world. Pick yourself a favorite team be it the New England Patriots, Dallas Cowboys, Minnesota Vikings, Indianapolis Colts, New York Giants or the Green Bay Packers and make a point, there are millions of NFL fans out there just waiting to hear what you have to say.

What Every Woman Must Know About Football And Marriage by Myla Madson

My best friend forever Megan, got married last year. Believe me, I tried to talk her out of it; Or I at least advised her to wait awhile longer before taking the plunge.

She was in love though, at least with the idea of marriage. Scott, her husband is also a long time friend of mine. In fact, I introduced the two.

After a three month world wind romance, they announced their engagement at a dinner party I was having, ironically, to deliver some good news of my own, but more on that later. Anyway, the short amount of time between the day they met and the day they became engaged, was not why I advised against the two tying the knot. It was the actual date of the wedding.

They were to be wed in just a few weeks and not one moment of their courtship had, or would have, fallen during football season.

American football is a rite of passage for most men. In fact, most men spend more time and effort developing their relationship with football than they would ever think to with their significant other. It's just the way it works, and believe me, it as deep, intimate and very personal relationship!

If you have not spent time with your man during the rutting season, you could be in for a real eye opener. Language you may never have heard come out of his mouth before, and a sudden and complete disregard for your feelings, especially on Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays and sometimes Thursdays, could be a rude awakening as to the monster that really lies beneath that coat of shining armor.

Not all men fall victim to the call of the wild and are able to keep this temptress in check. You have no idea however, if your man is one of the very few who are immune to the intoxicating allure of a bunch of fat men running around in tights slapping each other on the rear ends. It's best not to take this chance.

Football brings out the absolute worst in a man, even more so than him playing a round of golf and suddenly developing what they like to call the "Shanks".

If you can travel blissfully through the months of August-February, the absolute height of football season, and come out the other side having not vomited at his atrocious behavior or that of his friends, who until the weather began to turn cooler, you never even knew existed, well then you have my blessing.

One quick tip if you are so head over heals in love that you just can't wait until football season comes around to get a complete picture of the man you intend to spend the rest of your life with, there's always this thing called the NFL draft. It's sometime in April and ESPN and the NFL network devote about a 1000 hours to the whole stupid thing. If your man blocks off that weekend as a "no date" zone, your liable to be in for some very stormy weather come the final days of summer.

My advice, and I speak from experience here, is that if your guy actually watches more than a couple of hours of the NFL draft, consider it a symptom of horrible and debilitating things to come. If your man is currently a social drinker, he won't be come kick off so consider the condition terminal.

Oh, my good news? The Washington Redskins reported that their ancient and out of touch coach was resigning and possibly, just possibly the team could finally remove their heads from their oversized butts and actually start winning for a change!! I'm interested to see what they intend to do in the draft this year.

Man Utd still at the top spot by Cindy Ferguson

Thanks to the second half goals provided by Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo Manchester United was able to remain in the number one spot of the table. This is the clubs 16th season in the Premier League and their 33rd consecutive season in the top division of English football, a place where they wish to continue.

Man Utd was not in their best playing condition and many feared that Reading was going to win the match but when only thirteen minutes remained Wayne Rooney was able to score and minutes later Reading tried for an equalizer but Man Utd made a successful attack and this time Cristiano Ronaldo was the one who scored.

Rooney’s goal marked his fifth for what goes of the season but he hopes to score more through out this season and score more then 16 to set a new record of goals for himself with the club.

Although Ronaldo’s performance was not even close to the way he usually plays he still managed to score his 23rd goal of this season. Everyone is used to seeing the 22 year old Portuguese give much more than what he did in this match but at least at the club was still able to pull it off.

Even though Man Utd started the 2007-2008 premiership season somewhat slow they have been able to stay at the top. The clubs to first opening games ended up as draws and then they lost Rooney due to a foot injury and then they also had Ronaldo out due to his suspension for head butting Richard Hughes. Due to the loss of those two star players and their results the club was heading towards the relegation zone for the first time in years. A point to mention about Man Utd’s season so far is the paucity of goals conceded since they have only let in two goals in eight seasons and they have also been unsuccessful in scoring a lot of goals and have only scored seven in eight games.

Despite the above mentioned the club as stayed at the top and has not let anything bring them back down but I guess that type of mind focus and strength is what makes or breaks a good club.
